Kielbasa is a type of sausage , popular in Eastern Europe countries like Poland,Ukraine etc, it’s basically made up of ground beef or pork or in combination of both with spices like some salt & pepper and other seasonings..

There are a lot of varieties of kielbasa from fresh to smoked. fresh kielbasa is uncooked one Smoked or cured kielbasa is  precooked one kielbasa .

Consumption of fresh kielbasa is in soups , gravies, baking dishes and in traditional dishes which require cooking.

While smoked one is mostly used in sandwiches, salad either cold or hot servings.

Microwaving kielbasa is recommended because microwaving is less time consuming . procedure involved is.

1.Make the kielbasa slices as follows, cutting into 2-4 inches of pieces to be microwaved evenly.

2. Arrange them in single layers on microwave-safe plates to avoid overlap.

3.Covering the microwave safe dish with microwave safe plastic cling wrap, but at this time we have two options either you want to eat crunchy one or cooked one .For crunchy kielbasa don’t cover it with wrap.

cling wrap must be slitted from one side to remove steam.

4.Microwave on high power for 2 minutes and then check it and turn the sides of sausages , then again microwave it for 1 minute . 

5. Check for doneness , To check either it’s cooked properly or not, check if it’s heated properly or brown from the edges.

Can I cook kielbasa in the microwave?

Yes , kielbasa can be cooked in a microwave , but you have to cut it into pieces of the required size first, then place them into a microwave safe dish .

1.Make sure to poke sausage with a fork to avoid accumulation of stem in it , to avoid bursting of sausage. I always advise to cut sausages to avoid such happenings.

2.For microwaving anything like sausage one thing should be kept in mind that ,Always microwave them in intervals, firstly set them to microwave at high power for 1-2 minutes and then microwaving at low power for 1 -2 minutes.
